Бібліотеки для вікових груп
Ми працювали над тим, щоб кожна з наших 8 місцевих бібліотек і наша послуга пересувної бібліотеки отримали статус дружнього до літніх людей.
Кожна бібліотечна філія призначила свого співробітника на звання відданого Чемпіона з дружнього ставлення до вікових груп. Ці Чемпіони, дружні до вікових груп, пройшли навчання та провели опитування серед членів своєї місцевої громади, щоб визначити три дії, які можна було б вжити для покращення взаємодії бібліотеки з літніми людьми в їхній бібліотеці.
Протягом останніх місяців працівники бібліотеки наполегливо працювали, щоб здійснити ці зміни, які включали;
- Паркувальні місця для літніх людей біля бібліотек Urlingford & Castlecomer.
- Окуляри для читання/збільшувальний лист доступний для використання в бібліотеці
- Візок для людей похилого віку біля Грайгенамана та міської бібліотеки
- Програмування, орієнтоване на вік, наприклад аранжування квітів, творче письмо, уроки мистецтва тощо
Білтейн, травень 2024 р
Бібліотечна служба округу Кілкенні із задоволенням знову бере участь у Bealtaine цього травня. Bealtaine — це національний фестиваль Ірландії, який вшановує мистецтво та творчість у міру нашого старіння.

Poetry workshop with Tina Hunt - Tuesday 14th May 6pm
Join Tina Hunt for a poetry writing workshop at Graiguenamanagh Library.
The intention of the workshop is to encourage creativity through the writing of poetry. Participants can be new to writing or more experienced; the session is set up to consider both.
During this workshop Tina will discuss various types of poetry and using props to get started with the writing process.

Чарівний стіл
Чарівний стіл складається з серії інтерактивних ігор, які проектуються на стіл. Ігри створені з наміром викликати у гравців відчуття спогадів, щоб стимулювати соціальне, когнітивне та фізичне стимулювання. Як світлові симуляції, ігри проектуються на стіл і включають садівництво, риболовлю та лопання повітряних куль. Світлові ігри спонукають гравців тягнутися до них, а вогні згодом реагують на рухи їхніх рук і рук.
The Magic Table також включає ігри для людей з аутизмом, ці ігри описані як більш безпосередньо навчальні.
Бібліотека Loughboy є домом для першого встановленого Magic Table в бібліотеках Кілкенні, Каслкомера та Грейгенемамана, які містять портативні столи, які можна позичити стороннім установам на певний період часу, користувачі яких можуть отримати користь від його використання.
